Stonetrail Holidays

Stonetrail Holidays offer luxury self catering holidays for cyclists, walkers and horse and riders. Based at Street Farm, a historic 16th century former farm in a spectacular setting at the foot of Wild Boar Fell, midway between Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen.

The accommodation consists of two apartments, one sleeping 2, the other sleeping up to 4. Offering a high standard of comfort, they have been newly converted from a range of stone barns employing traditional building methods to retain the historic and architectural value of the building. The interiors have been finished with open trusses and exposed stonework which complement the oak floors, wood burning stoves and power showers. The furnishings are simple and stylish with comfy beds and crisp white linen.

There is a Map Room with inhouse GPS software where guests can browse routes and download or print maps.

Two further lodges, one sleeping up to 4 and the other up to 8, are planned to open in 2009.

Westby House Cottage is situated on the outskirts of Sedbergh, and a footpath extends the half mile into the town.

The single storey, stone built, semi-detached cottage is approached by a 150 yard private road and commands an elevated position within a beautiful garden at the foot of the Howgill Fells. It faces southwest and has a panoramic view of the Lune Valley from the patio at the front.

It has its own entrance and parking space for two/three cars at the rear.

All accommodation is on a single level and comprises of a lounge; entrance hall area with dining area; bathroom with 'over bath' shower, shaving point and immersion heater; two bedrooms with double (4'6") beds; kitchen; shared utility room with laundry facilities and freezer space. Sheets and towels can be supplied at extra cost. Mobile phones operate at this location.

The property is well insulated, is heated by storage heaters with an afternoon boost and has fitted carpets throughout.

The glazed front leads out to the patio equipped with garden furniture. The garden area is usually available for lawn games such as putting, tennis and bowls.

Overlooking a cascading stream, this 17th century watermill conversion nestles in a sheltered hollow at the foot of the Howgill Fells. This detached stone cottage lies close to the owners' home and provides very comfortable, warm and well cared-for accommodation. You can see many types of bird that visit the grounds and surrounding fells. Paved pathways lead alongside the tumbling waters to private grassed arbours and patios, where a quiet evening drink or barbecue may be enjoyed.

UnderRigg is beautifully placed in Millthrop, a pretty hamlet attached to Sedbergh in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We are not many miles from the Lake District National Park either, so you could say we're spoilt for choice!

The cottage has a very peaceful setting with open views over the fells, to front and rear. It is warm and cosy, and furnished as a comfortable and well-equipped home with the advantage of two lounge rooms designed to give greater flexibility to guests. It accommodates, at most, two couples and one single.

Stouphill Gate Cottage

Stouphill Gate is a traditional old Cumbrian farmstead, and the holiday accommodation has been formed from the older parts of the property retaining much of the original character whilst benefiting from all of the modern conveniences.

Guests can be assured of a warm friendly welcome,and will be greeted with homemade cake and complimentary tea/coffee to brew themselves. The fridge will be on and there will be hot water in the tank. In the winter there will also be a warm fire awaiting in the cottage. Being adjacent to the holiday accommodation the owners are happy to offer help and suggestions to all visitors during their stay and are flexible over arrivals, even if you don't know what time that will be!

Larger parties can also be catered for by renting one, or both, of the adjacent bed and breakfast rooms, one of which is fully equipped for disabled access.

Ash Hining Farm, built around 1600, offers panoramic views of the Lune Valley, Dentdale and the Howgill Fells. The farmhouse itself can accommodate up to eight people in four ensuite bedrooms.

Self catering group accommodation in superb barn conversion. Magnificently situated in the Howgill Fells with great views all round. Flexible dormitories/bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, dining area, washrooms and drying room. Outside there is acres of space with a games field, campfire area, bbq.

The centre is let out to one group so the group has sole use of the whole centre. There is accommodation for groups of up to 24 people. Groups with higher numbers can be accommodated for by adding some camping in the grounds of the centre.
